Youtha Fowler - known to the world as DJ NABS - has spent over four decades quietly shaping the soundtrack of Southern culture. From building Atlanta's hip-hop radio and nightlife landscape to touring alongside Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Lil Jon, and Ciara, to mentoring a young Chris Bridges who is now known as Ludacris, NABS didn't just witness history - he is one of the architects. Back When It Was Rap is a multi-platform initiative dedicated to ensuring that Southern history endures. This project includes a documentary film, a digital exhibition tracking hip-hop's Southern roots, a podcast series, a traveling immersive experience featuring genuine artifacts with a live DJ booth, and a commemorative book celebrating thirty years of culture, craft, and community.
