Dying to Tell: Stephen Jenkins

Dying To Tell

Dying to Tell is a deeply personal, reflective creative project centered on Stephen Jenkins’ six-decade journey through identity, otherness, loss, awakening, and renewal. Through a documentary film and a coffee table–style memoir, the project explores what it means to live with eyes wide open–reckoning with death, rebirth, belonging, and purpose.

Blue Ridge Collaborative’s Role

Blue Ridge Collaborative is partnering with Stephen Jenkins to help bring Dying to Tell into the world with care, intention, and creative rigor. Our work included refining the project’s narrative focus, clarifying its messaging, and preparing foundational materials to support funding, production, and distribution.

BRC will fund and produce both the documentary film and the companion book, supporting the project from concept through completion. Once complete, we will also help stage a public film premiere paired with a book signing. BRC will also explore distribution pathways for the film (including PBS, streaming platforms, and digital outlets) and assess publishing options for the book, from traditional publishing to self-publication.
